Created specifically for use with indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The fire resistant pad is not fireproof. It will protect your floor from an ember or burning log until it can be placed back in the fire. It will not protect from direct heat or intense direct fire. Extended high temp exposure may create a melt spot, but the pad will not catch fire.
