The powerful sand pump lasts longer, is more environmentally-friendly and requires less maintenance than a traditional filter cartridge pump. With a pre-filter strainer basket to catch larger items, this pump is highly-efficient and lasts for many seasons to come. The sand filter pump uses either silica sand or lightweight Bestway Polysphere Pool Filtration Balls, included in this set. Made of recyclable and non-toxic material, the cotton-like filtration balls can last 4-6 months with proper maintenance.
