API Floating De-Icer

Underwriters listed floating de-icer features a safety shut-off system designed to automatically shut the de-icer off before the heating element becomes hot enough to ignite a fire, in the event the unit is thrown from the tank. The styrofoam float is completely enclosed within a rugged puncture-proof plastic housing (no exposed styrofoam). The tubular heating element is incoloy the best known material to withstand all types of water impurities. The electric cord is protected by a 30″ length of steel coil.
